Welcome!

I’M SUSAN ISAAC.

I AM THE CREATIVE BEHIND

SUSAN ISAAC DESIGN.

It took me decades to find my voice, especially as an artist. The peace and joy of proudly claiming my ‘style’ has been hard won and has made all the difference.

And now I use my talents in glass design to brighten a person’s unique style, celebrate themselves and give meaningful, heart-felt gifts to those they want to uplift.

We are all one-of-a-kind. I insist my designs reflect this.

Whether I am laughing with clients or students in the studio, out for a walk in my neighbourhood, in the teacher workshop flow or thanking dear husband Marnie for fixing my equipment at just the right time … you will never find me far away from my art or nature. It is a part of every breath I take and I am constantly contemplating what new design I can create for you.

My Favourites

I completely trust your intuition, your knowing, just as I completely trust mine. I slow down enough to listen carefully to my heart, and wait to hear from the Goddess of Fire, Pele. If she doesn’t show up that day, or I don’t emotionally show up, I leave the studio and return when it is the right time. The glass must ‘speak to me’.

Heartfelt

When I created Heartfelt earlier in 2022 for the Hope collection, I immediately knew this piece would join my list of favourites. The folding of pink hearts one upon another and a secret heart inside combined with the silver polka dots makes me smile. It just makes me happy. This piece is very hard to photograph, but in person, she shows the delicate, monochromatic aspect of design that I love as much as bold colours.

Lady of the Lake

This piece is also known as Viviane or Nimuë, an enchantress who lives in a castle beneath a lake surrounding the island of Avalon. I donated this butterfly pendant to the Women in Need Society for their annual fundraising campaign. It was my first donation of butterfly wings to a charity. I love what WIN stands for and how they help women who need to be uplifted. I love the mystery eye in the piece, off centre and rich in depth and colour. I wonder where and with whom this lovely piece resides.

Stargazer

This is the first butterfly pendant that I gifted to myself and it always draws reactions. I’ve been told that my pendant has the perfect Feng Shui from a lovely woman who teaches people Feng Shui for their homes.

Even today, I often get comments as I walk down the street or am having coffee at a cafe. It’s a show stopper to this day and it is mine. 💗

Volcanic Lust

This pendant was named by a follower on Facebook before I had even finished the pendant. I posted a photo after I cut out the pendant, still in rough form. It seemed like the perfect name! I was going to take a hammer and destroy this glass panel because it had a huge very undesirable bubble from being fired incorrectly. But before I dismissed this glass panel, I cut out a pendant around the huge hole and Volcanic Lust appeared. It’s a lesson to listen to my intuition that was telling me ‘something’ powerful was in that piece of glass. The command, from Pele was to ‘go back and create’.

I own this pendant and the reactions from others are always powerful and immediate.
