From Burn Out to Butterflies

I spent decades in academia and science, including teaching oral microbiology. The microscope world, the hidden beauty living within the grass and flowers on my rainforest Vancouver Island property inspire my use of colour and design. I combine decades of creating with the ancient technique of fused glass, with my love of nature to reveal a universe of bubbles and beauty deep within the glass. I am so grateful to have been trained by some of the best mentors in North America.

From age 10, I disowned my inner creative self. Finally in the second season of my life I stepped fully into being an artist and butterflies, as a symbol of my transformation, became another layer of creative expression; and a way for others to celebrate transformative moments in their lives. this my ‘You Can Fly Series’ of one-of-a-kind designs for pendants butterfly shaped pendants was born.

People often choose a particular pendant or design because it represents a moment in their life they want to remember and honour. The stories people have told me are varied and incredibly inspiring. Others delight in the simple act of choosing beauty they can wear.

It is important to me that my unique designs help people express their one-of-a-kind style and personality. I encourage everyone to use their intuition and choose a gift for themselves or others that ‘‘speaks to them’.

The peace and joy of proudly claiming my true artistic style and personality has made all the difference in my life. I can now use my passion and talents to help others proudly express their style so they can experience the difference this can make in their lives.

I believe, when a person has confidence expressing their real-self they inspire others to follow. To me true peace in the world comes from the calm, deep honouring of oneself, fully expressed.
